Located along Florida's west-central coast and the Gulf of Mexico, Citrus County is rolling hills, crystal clear springs, rivers, and lakes that provide countless oppurtunitites for outdoor recreation. With a history dating as far back as the late 1800's, Citrus County has maintained its small town charm and still offers conveniently located city amenities. Citrus County also has many nature parks and attractions including the Homosassa State Wildlife park.  The Homosassa State Wildlife Park is a Florida Park that showcases native Florida Wildlife including manatees, black bear, bobcats, white-tailed deer, alligators, the American Crocodile and river otters. Archaeological and historic sites throughout the county preserve souvenirs of Florida's heritage. Citrus County has set aside over 152,000 acres to preserve wildlife and is home to the largest population of manatees in the state.
